The state of California, located on the west coast of the United States, is by far the most populous state in the country. There are also a number of California casinos operating within the legal jurisdictions of its Native American owned lands. Because they are located on Native American land, many California casinos are located in out-of-the-way places. When visiting a California casino, it is advisable to call ahead and get specific directions.

Nearly all California casinos are open 24 hours a day. California casinos are allowed to offer electronic gaming machines, blackjack, and other card games. Unfortunately, the games of craps and roulette are not permitted, but some California casinos offer modified forms of these games that are played with cards rather than dice or roulette wheels. Slots, video poker and video keno are the most popular electronic gaming machines you'll find in California casinos. Some of the card games frequently played in California casinos include blackjack, baccarat, poker (including pai gow, Caribbean stud and three-card poker), Spanish 21, and Let it Ride. Many California casinos also feature bingo, casino war and OTB (off track betting) options for gamblers and casual players.

In addition to traditional gambling games, many California casinos offer some exciting and unusual amenities. For example, the Barona Valley Ranch Resort & Casino in Lakeside has a full 18-hole golf course and a wedding chapel. Visitors to the Konocti Vista Casino Resort & Marina, also in Lakeside, can take in a marina with 80 ships. The Win-River Casino in Redding features a comedy club and an entertainment center. Relax at the Cache Creek Indian Bingo & Casino in Brooks with a full-service spa. California casinos are as varied and colorful as the residents of California themselves, and many of them are full of surprises!

Several California casinos allow overnight RV parking for the traveling gambler, so if you're planning a California casino trip you can make quite a few stops and stay a while. Age restrictions at California casinos are 18 and up except where liquor is served, in which case it's 21 and up. Other California casinos include the Chumash Casino in Santa Ynez, the Agua Caliente Casino in Rancho Mirage, the Mono Wind Casino in Auberry, the River Rock Casino in Geyserville, the Palace Indian Gaming Center in Lemoore, the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, the Black Bart Casino in Willits, the Lucky 7 Casino in Smith River, and many more!

Online poker software is a poker game with real people. That’s the most important lesson you should learn from our article. We’ll be teaching you guidelines and concepts you’ll be able to use with great success, and you’ll quickly become a very good player. But, if your ambition is to become a great player, a top flight Pro, a superstar … you’ll need to really understand your poker opponents. You’ll need to get inside your opponent’s head and be able to estimate with a high degree of certainty what his check, bet or raise really means … and what hand he’s likely to be playing.

Being able to do that accurately isn’t easy. But you can do it if you’re alert, observant, disciplined and if you concentrate whenever you play (whether or not you’re involved in the pot). Using our advice and the advice of our expert collaborators, you’ll find that the ″task″ of unmasking your Online poker software faced poker opponents will become easier and easier.

When you’re able to put your opponent on exactly the hand he’s playing (because you know him almost as well as he knows himself) you can select the best strategy possible for that particular Online poker software situation. When you reach that level of skill, you’ll be a complete player.

That’s what Online poker software’s all about. People…and the strategy you use against them. More than any other poker game, Online poker software depends on your understanding your opponent. You’ve got to know what makes him tick. More importantly, you’ve got to know what makes him tick at the moment you’re involved in a pot with him. What’s his mood … his feeling? What’s his apparent psychological frame of mind right now? Is he in the Mood to gamble … or is he just sitting there waiting for the nuts? Is he a loser and on tilt (playing far below his normal capability) … or has he screwed down (despite his being loser) and begun playing his best possible poker game? Is he a cocky winner who’s now playing carelessly and throwing off most of his winnings…or is he a winner who’s started to play very tight so he can protect his gains?

When you can accurately answer questions like those (and there are many more like them) … and employ the other ideas, principles, rules, techniques and strategies We’ll teach you in this article you’ll be one super tough Online poker software player.

Put all of it together and your playing ability will border on being World Class. It takes a lot to play winning Online poker software at a World Class level because Online poker software is such a complex poker game more complex than any other poker game … or any other form of gambling.

For example, the difference between playing good Online poker software and playing good Blackjack is as vast as the difference between squad tactics and grand strategy in warfare. You can beat a Blackjack poker game by knowing exactly what to do in every situation…and doing it. That’s tactics. But in Online poker software you may face an identical situation twice against the same opponent, handle it two different ways, and be right both times. That’s strategy.

And that’s why there’s never going to be a computer that will play World Class Online poker software. It’s a people poker game. A computer could be programmed to handle the extensive mathematics of a Online poker software poker game. But the psychological complexities are another matter. A system figured out by computer can beat Blackjack because there the dealer has no options. He has to stand on 17, he has to hit 16.

A computer could play fair to middling Online poker software. But no computer could ever stand face to face with a table full of people it had never met before, and make quality, high profit decisions based on psychology. To do that requires perception and judgment. It requires a human mind.

The way I accumulate knowledge of a particular player is by listening to him, and looking at him, instead of talking

Anyone using a winning blackjack strategy can play for a living ( its easy to do ) and you know that longer term the edge is in your favor not the casino's, so you will win and you can play blackjack for a living.

You need to have the correct blackjack strategy to win and the correct mindset and this is what this article is all about - having a blackjack strategy to win, even if you have never played before.

    1. Learn the Basic Strategy

Mathematically, there only one correct action a player can do, for any of the hands the player is dealt, against the cards the dealer holds.

This way of playing is known as blackjack Basic strategy, and all winning blackjack card counting strategies are based upon it.

It soon is committed to a player's memory but until then you can use strategy cards available free on the net.

    2. Learn to Card Count

Most people who use a blackjack strategy don't go beyond the above, but you must as you still play with a small disadvantage to the house, to get the odds in your favor you must learn to card count – then the odds longer term are in your favor.

Card counting systems can be simple or complicated, but simple ones tend to work very well and you can learn these in under a day.

The reason card counting is so effective and are the basis of your winning blackjack strategy is that mathematically its proven that it works for the following reason:

When a blackjack hand is dealt you have choices you the player can make, the dealer has no choices he simply plays by the house rules.

As some cards favor the player and some the dealer, when you have the advantage your choices can give you an edge and allow you to up your bet size, ias the odds come in your favor.

    3. Manage Your Money Correctly

All blackjack players will have losing periods and bad runs and so need to manage their bankroll and this means looking at the longer term not short term periods in your pursuit of profits.

A money management rule that is effective is to bet with 1% of your bankroll.

For example, if you have a bankroll of $1000, your betting size is 1%, or $10. If you are playing with a 1.5% advantage over the house, (with a card counting strategy), the chances of losing your entire bankroll are only 5%.

It’s a mathematical certainty that you will hit a losing run as card counting is simply a probability theory not a predictive theory, so you need to be able to stay in the game in these periods of losses.

You will lose more hands then you will win, so in order to make money longer term, you need to up your bet size when the odds are favorable top make sure your winners cover your losers and make you long term profits.

This is the key to a winning blackjack strategy, that can pile up huge profits.

Many players can play well, but they don't adjust bet size enough when the odds are in their favor and lose.

    4. Play with Favorable House Rules

The house rules dictate how much money you can expect to win in the long run.

You therefore need to look for favorable house rules to give you an extra edge.

For example, with card counting when playing with a single deck, your count is more likely to be accurate as there are fewer cards to come from the deck.

    5. State of Mind

If you are seriously playing for money, make sure that you are mentally alert and focused Don’t play when you have had a row with the wife, or have been drinking or taking drugs

    6. Discipline - The Key to Success

If you have a plan, you need discipline to implement it unemotionally, and stick with it even when losing.

    7. Be Patient

You cannot hurry your winnings with blackjack you can play with the odds in your favor with the correct winning blackjack strategy, but short term results vary.

Don't worry though over time you will win and that's what it all about.

Blackjack is all about making the right choices (that's your advantage over the dealer), the choices you make in how you play your cards and how you bet will enable you to play blackjack for a living.

Keep in mind that the above blackjack strategy is that will put the odds in your favor and that means money in your pocket - any player can do it if they take a little time to digest and implement the above points.

Blackjack strategy is not difficult or time consuming

to learn, but most people simply don’t bother. The primary reason why is because they don’t know when or

where they would be likely to benefit from having knowledge of blackjack technique. However, there are lots of scenarios where knowing how to play a strong game of blackjack can come in handy. Here are a few examples of when knowing blackjack strategy can be a true asset.

Many people take group trips or romantic getaways to resort areas where casinos are abundant. This makes it almost inevitable that you will, at some point, be given the opportunity to sit down at a blackjack table. Even if you only end up walking into a casino a few times in your life, knowing the ins and outs of blackjack strategy can help you have a really great time. When you surprise your traveling companions with your unexpected level of prowess at the game of blackjack, you will win admiration all around. Even if you only get the chance to use your blackjack knowledge a few times, it is well worth the time and effort to learn blackjack strategy so that you can make the most of those opportunities. Being great at blackjack can help you turn a special weekend in Las Vegas into a high rolling party that you will remember for a lifetime.

Having a solid foundation in blackjack strategy can even be extremely helpful if you get sick and tired of blackjack. When you know blackjack technique, you can use the proceeds from your time at the table to fund other, riskier gaming. If you like to gamble but hate losing money, start your night on the casino floor at the blackjack table, and use your strategies to clean up in round after round. Then, take your winnings, and kiss them goodbye as you and anyone lucky enough to be by your side put them to use all

over the casino. Being great at blackjack can give you the freedom to be terrible at roulette, craps, or baccarat without having to read the damage in your bank balance the next morning.

Any time that you are at a computer with a few minutes to spare, you can benefit from knowing blackjack strategy. With the rise in online gaming, there are more opportunities to play blackjack online today than ever before. Internet blackjack can let you win money whenever you have a little free time and a working web browser. If you’re ever found yourself looking for a way to pass a rainy afternoon, a chance to take a quick break from work or studying, or just a way to make an extra few dollars while you’re waiting for your morning toast to cook or

a pot of water to boil, blackjack strategy can help you win a few rounds no matter where you are or what time it is.

There are plenty of online poker review sites out there (including our review portal Poker-Ranking.com), each giving you their take on the numerous poker rooms circulating the internet. Below we'll begin the process of breaking down for you our own online poker review template so you can learn what to look for when seeking out your next online poker room.

    Software & Graphics

There are number of software programs most commonly used in online poker rooms all over the net, most notably: Microgaming, Cryptologic, RealTime Gaming, and PlayTech. Some online poker rooms, however, will use their own proprietary software.

Whichever software your online poker room uses, reading online poker reviews will give you a good idea what internet savvy poker players think of the various programs. Some factors to consider include:

    - Speed and smoothness of game play

    - Reliability of the software

    - Usability of the interface

    - Table view options (Bird's Eye or 3D Player-Centered)

    - Selection of automated features (auto-post blinds, preselect bid/fold buttons)

Under this heading in an online poker review you'll also find information on how players are represented in the game (text, icons, flags, avatars), and the subjective quality of the graphics and sound.

    Game Variation and Limits

Here you'll find a listing of the games offered, such as: Texas Hold'em, Omaha, 7-Card Stud, 5-Card Stud, Draw Poker, Hi/Lo variants, and occasionally even rarer, more odd games like Crazy Pineapple. Some sites will even have the smattering of Video Poker or non-poker casino games like Blackjack. These days, however, a great number of online poker sites have companion online casino sites.

You'll also find listed under this heading in an online poker review the betting structures available at each game — Limit, Pot Limit, No Limit — and the range of stakes for each. If you see in an online poker review the term "Microlimits", for example, that generally refers to games with blinds in the penny or nickel range. A $20/$40 game has small blinds and raises starting at and in increments of $20 and has big blinds and raises starting at and in increments of $40.

Lastly, in this section of an online poker review, you'll learn whether the online poker site offers Ring Games or Tournaments (or both), and if they do offer tournaments, what kind?

    Freeroll: No cost to enter but the prizes are real;

    Freezeout (or Shootout): Winner takes all (or top 3 placers) by process of elimination; most poker tournaments are of this variety (even Freerolls and Sit-n-Go's);

    Sit-n-Go (or Sit and Go): Usually run 24/7; a Sit-n-Go is a freezeout, can be of any stakes, and starts each time the required number of players buy-in;

    Re-Buy: A form of Freezeout whereby, when you get knocked out, you have the option of buying in a second time;

    Satellite: A Freezeout where the prize is a seat in a larger poker tournament (usually a land-based poker tournament) with a much larger prize;

Bounty: A Freezeout with a bonus; certain players have "bounties" on their heads; whoever knocks any of those players out of the game collects that bounty, whether they win the whole game or not.

    Traffic

This section of an online poker review is where you'll learn how many players, on average, frequent the poker room. The online poker review will usually say how many players, during peak hours, participate in both the Ring Games and the Tournaments.

Traffic in an online poker room is a double-edged sword. Too much traffic means that you might have trouble finding a seat at a table, but you won't have trouble finding action at your desired stakes and there's likely to be a ton of fish to squeeze out of their bankrolls.

Too little traffic means that you may not find action at your desired stakes, but you'll never have trouble finding a seat and you'll probably play the same players more frequently. Getting to know your opponents' habits is an excellent advantage.

Stay tuned next week for the conclusion of How to Read an Online Poker Review, detailing: competition, bonuses, rake, customer service, promotions, deposits and cashouts, and ease of use.

It began as an academic interest in the early days of computing. Dr. Edward O. Thorp, a California professor, wanted to test a theory that blackjack could be beaten. He devised a simple counting method to track the ratio of high to low cards played. When there are more high cards left in the deck the odds favor the player. When there are more low cards left in the deck the odds favor the dealer or "the house." He presented his findings in academic papers and in a popular book, "Beat the Dealer."

As the casinos became aware of the danger of hosting a game whose odds did not favor the house, they took countermeasures: by shuffling the deck they kept players from the advantage of "deep counts." They could also bar anyone, any time, and they did, throwing "counters" off the property.

But the Genie was out of the bottle.

Coming along in the wake of Thorp were such blackjack greats as Stanford Wong, Arnold Snyder, Ken Uston, and Jerry Patterson. Thorp, Wong, Snyder, and Uston are members (there are only 12) of the Blackjack Hall of Fame. Their work was capped by the famous MIT team that hit Vegas and other gambling spots in the 90's and took millions from their tills.

Stanford Wong (John Ferguson) has a Ph. D. in Finance from Stanford University. In 1975 he published a book, "Professional Blackjack," which is still a standard in the field. Years ago he traveled to Macau to test their tolerance with counters and did well. He self-published a book, "Blackjack in Asia," which he priced at $2,000. Another book, "Winning Without Counting," sold for a paltry $200.

Arnold Snyder is a northern California player and writer who created "The First Church of Blackjack." He is, of course, the Bishop. His books include "Blackbelt in Blackjack." He publishes a newsletter, "Blackjack Forum." He has testified as an expert witness in trials on the rights of blackjack counters.

Ken Uston formed player teams. He trained them and turned them loose on the casinos. Uston, at one time Senior Vice President of the Pacific Stock Exchange, challenged the legality of casinos barring skilled players. Though he won the casinos introduced draconian measures that actually hurt card-counting teams. He also introduced training videos to the field.

Jerry Patterson is a New Jersey-based professional gambler. He is best known as an author ("Blackjack"), was one of the first to track "non-random deck shuffles," and started franchised Blackjack schools. Today he writes about many games, and like Wong and others, believes that craps can be beaten through "dice control," the way the dice are thrown.

The MIT team, immortalized in Ben Mezrich's book, "Bringing Down the House," purportedly separated casinos from three million dollars during their brief run. These math and computer geeks developed counting systems to go along with a new innovation – a division of labor - in team play where one player would act as a "Spotter," counting cards but calling no attention to him/herself while another player, the "Gorilla," watched. When the Spotter signaled the Gorilla, the Gorilla would come in, make big bets only when the odds were in favor of the players, then split.

    So, where are we?

Blackjack is still one of the most popular games for players. It is still a substantial profit center for the house. Andy Bloch, one of the MIT players, has a new DVD series out that trains in the manner of the MIT team. He says, "Blackjack can still be beaten."

So, who's winning? Grab a seat and start counting. It ain't over till its over.

When I first started playing at online casinos few years ago, I was a real bonus whore who tried out every possible way of getting free casino cash, every free dime and gambled it away. I never purchased maximum amount of money back then to receive maximum amount of bonus money, because I always thought: ″Hey, I am going to win eventually anyway, I don’t want to spend extra $50 for getting more green to my casino account!″ Of course, I lost it all and was quickly depositing again, this time without bonus, which clearly meant I was not very good handling my jumpy bankroll.

This is not what I do know. Although nowadays I don’t play slots, blackjack and craps very often at online casinos, I still hop by once in a while and give myself a shot. Some might call me a ″bonus whore″ even now, since I choose casinos by bonus. I don’t do that systematically anymore since I run my own gambling website and I keep getting generous bonus offers that I mostly keep for my visitors.

What I do now - I search the most generous bonus amount I can get from a casino with my first purchase and I buy myself that bonus. Searching the generous bonus amount includes reading terms and conditions carefully and doing some research work to make sure I am not getting ripped off.

I call these huge bonuses high roller bonuses, since they are perfect for people who like playing long sessions and who are willing to spend a lot of money in order to win big. High rollers are also aware that they are going to lose in a long term, but if they are going to lose anyway, why not lose the minimum amount of money? This is the root of online casino bonuses that every player should understand.

Since most of these high roller bonuses have similar terms and conditions, I will bring you few examples from random casinos and explain them to you. The following is essential, since if you don’t follow the terms you might lose all the winnings and the bonus itself as well.

The first example is from Racetrack Casino, that has 20% first deposit bonus up to $500. In the interests of fair gaming, they require you to have wagered a minimum of six times the total amount deposited plus bonus, up to a maximum wager of $18,000 for each deposit plus bonuses made during the bonus promotion time. The following is extremely important for you to understand! - If you make a withdrawal before wagering six times your deposit and bonus, the bonus money and winnings will be removed from your account.

The other example comes from Europa Casino. This casino claims to have $2400 welcome bonus for all the players, although it isn’t quite so. They have one of the trickiest bonus systems. I have personally only used the $500 welcome bonus, which is actually a 25% first deposit bonus. ″Low rollers″ have to do with 100% first deposit bonus with many times smaller first purchase.

To the bonus: In the interest of fair gaming they’re ordered to cash out any amount of money you must wager at least twelve times your play bonus plus deposit. Players depositing in U.K. Pounds must wager at least eighteen times your play bonus plus deposit. If you withdraw before having reached the minimum wagering requirements, your bonus and winnings will be void. So, again the similar bonus structure.

At least now you can understand why casinos offer those bonuses - it’s not very likely you have lots of money left when you have wagered at least twelve times your play bonus plus deposit. But you can always get lucky, and this is what we all want when we step in to a casino!

The future of Iowa casinos looks bright, with more and more casinos appearing and major expansions being planned.

Please correct me if I am wrong but aren't Las Vegas Buffets just the best in the world! Ok there are a few ones that are a bit how's your father (an Australian term for so so) but I am yet to go to a buffet that I havn't enjoyed. This is probably why I have a Vegas Buffet waist line.

Here I would like to share with you my top seven favourite buffets in Las Vegas.

    1. La Village Buffet as Paris hotel.

I have to say that this buffet is total class, great service and the best French cuisine I have ever tasted. They also have a great seafood selection and as far as I know are the only buffet that serves Bananas Foster for dessert! With great atmosphere I give it a 10/10

    2. Spice Market Buffet at Aladdin.

This buffet has a similar feel to the buffet at paris but more fake jewels on the walls ?. The food is great but I have to say the selection was not as exciting as at paris. However it really is great value and situated in the middle of some of the best shopping in Vegas, who can complain!

3 Todai Japanese Seafood Buffet at Aladdin.

If you love Japanese then this is the place for you. More sushi then you can poke a stick at! They seem to have the most fresh and best selection of sushi I have seen in a very long time. Other buffets really could afford to learn from this great place.

    4.French Market Buffet at Orleans

I really liked this buffet. It was clean with a great selection of French foods on show. Judging by the size of some of the partrons of this place they could not either! If you are over that way and looking for a not too expensive lunch or dinner option then this is place for you.

    5. Village Seafood Buffet as Rio

If you love seafood then you will be in heaven! Well worth the wait for the bus ride to Rio (you catch it a Bally's) the seafood here is the best in Vegas. The ironic thing is that I can't eat seafood, but I was taking my Mom out so I wanted to make sure she had a great night. Despite not being able to eat much of the buffet, I was still able to leave with a more then full feeling that left me more then satisfied. By the way Mom says the seafood was fantastic!

    6. The Buffet at Bellagio at Bellagio

For a place that is as glitzy and showy as the Bellagio I have to say I was a little disappointed at the fare they presented. Don't get me wrong it was all very nice but perhaps just not at the level you would expect of such a "high roller" establishment. The day I was there they did have lovely duck and I had just lost $100 on blackjack so let's not mention that again?

    7. Garden Court Buffet at Main Street Station.

Ok Ok I know that this place is off the beaten track but really it's worth the cab ride. This has to be the absolutely best priced, quality buffet in town. It's cheep and cheerful and boy the food and service was great. Sometimes it's nice to get off Las Vegas Blvd for a change after all, and you get to avoid all the snooty high rollers that wouldn't be seen dead here! Save your pennies for the craps table and still leave as full as an egg.

Well that's my top seven buffets. But before you run off don't forget to have a look for some of the discounts that are available with great coupons and clubs. These books are great, you get to rub shoulders with the stars and still have cab fare home!

    Viva Las Vegas Buffets!
