Chemin de Fer Basics – Part One

[ English ]

The basic premise of the game is to be handed cards totaling up to twenty-one. Each competitor is assigned 2 cards. When a gambler is dealt a nine or lower value card and an Ace they’ve been given a soft hand. When the blackjack player receives no Ace cards it is known as a hard hand. As soon as the cards have been dealt all players at the table, which includes the dealer, each blackjack player is provided the opportunity to make 1 of six decisions:

Requesting another card (Hit): When a black jack player announces "hit" the dealer will give him another card, if the adding of that card causes the value of the hand to exceed 21 the gambler will have lost and that is the end of the game, if the card makes the value of the hand to 21 the gambler is the winner and if the value of the hand hasn’t yet reached twenty-one they are still in the game.

Keeping the hand you’ve been dealt: If a blackjack player is satisfied with the hand they’ll stay. Once this has happened the dealer will display his/her hand and the blackjack player who has accumulated 21 or the closet to twenty one will acquire a win.

Doubling Down: A player might request to double down which increases the bet by one hundred percent they have placed. Once you have taken this action you can only receive one more card. The specifics of doubling down are normally out lined by the table or casino rules so prior to competing be sure you are familiar with the casino established rules. If you’re wagering at an on-line betting house this is normally quite easy.

Stay tuned for part 2.
